Sustainable and unsustainable cities.

Now, you will compare two cities, use the three pillars template to collect all the information.

Bogota will be one of the cities to compare. Use the following links to choose your second option.

Go over the complete document and choose one city. Then, use Mr Cobos' strategies to find other websites with deeper information about the chosen city.

Cheers.

First LOI Inquiry

Dear 4-1 student.

This are the steps you need to follow in order to have a great experience:

1.  Choose only ONE of the following characters. Make sure you choose one only.

Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Thomas Edison, James Watson/Francis Crick, Walt Disney, Neil Armstrong, Oprah Winfrey, Madame Curie,  Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Dalai Lama, Pope John Paul II, Leonardo DaVinci, Oscar Wilde, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, Malala, Steve Jobs, Tim Berners-Lee

2. Using one of the school iPads, start a Research in Google about your character.

3. Your research can be focused on Contribution and you should organise your inquiry taking into account:

(who) Name
(when) Time Period
(where) Location
(what) Contributions (3 to 5)
(how) how did he/she/they achieve these contributions
(why)Why the contributions are important

4. Think about the following question: What legacy have these characters left? and give a proper answer.

5. Compare what happened while this character was alive, what impact or influence he or she has left today and how his/her legacy will be connected to future events, behaviours, or actions. Some questions you may use to answer this are:

What are the contributions this character left to the world history?
What was and will be this character’s legacy to future generations?
What different character’s behaviour or actions can be connected to today and the future?
How have this character‘s actions affected what happens today and might happen in the future?

Formative assessment:

You should prepare a presentation of your character using any of the iPad presentation tools. You need to include your findings on all of the questions.

Have fun and try your best!

Mr Cobos.
