The Settle of a New Civilisation!!!

You are now the elders of a nomadic tribe who had decided that you were going to settle in this area and stop their nomadic ways. As elders and leaders, how do you begin to plan your civilization?

You will be given time to consider the area you are in and think about Colombia as living environment. You will need to come up with a way to survive and thrive in your environment. You can suggest roles for each member of the tribe, where to get supplies, etc.

You will have 10 mins to do this. Then go back in and have a reflection on your ideas. 

We will debate on a plan and a set of rules for our society.

Discussion questions:

1.     How difficult was it to be fair for everyone?

2.     What would happen if we didn’t have any rules?

3.     What choices did we have to make based on where we lived? What would happen if we lived somewhere else?

4.     How did you feel about the process?

SEE, THINK, WONDER: Ulysses and the Sirens

1. Draw a chart in your UOI notebooks for see, think, wonder. 

2. What can you see? Write down all the things that they see. This can be anything; colour, images, etc. 

3. What does it make you think of? Write down what  this image makes you think about.

4. What wonders do you have about it? Write your wonders about the picture.
